1.5 HP Elite TEFC Stainless Salzer Wired Motor
The 1.5 HP Elite TEFC Stainless Salzer Wired Motor is a single-phase, dual-voltage boat lift motor. It has a stainless steel housing. The motor is made to be mounted directly onto gearboxes, such as the A-Drive and E-Drive gearboxes, without needing a separate base. These motors are ideal for use in boat houses and areas with limited ventilation. The motor housing is made out of stainless steel with aluminum end bells.
You can choose between a Salzer maintained (lock-on) or momentary (spring-loaded) boat lift switch. Both switches are connected with 14/5 SJTW control cable, with the in-line GFCI located 4 1/2 inches away from the plug. The type of plug and GFCI wired to the wiring harness depends on your motor voltage selection.
The motor has a power rating of 1.5 horsepower (HP) and can run on either 115 volts or 230 volts. When running on 115 volts, it draws 15.4 amps, and on 230 volts, it draws 7.7 amps. It spins at a speed of 1725 revolutions per minute (RPM) with a frequency of 60 Hz. It belongs to frame 56c and has a service factor of 1.15. The motor can handle up to 17.6 amps at 115 volts or 8.8 amps at 230 volts. It can operate in an ambient temperature of up to 40°C for a maximum of 30 minutes. The housing is Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) with a code of E. It has insulation class F and is recognized by UL with a C-UL-US stamp.
Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC)
A Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motor is an electric motor that is enclosed to prevent the ingress of foreign particles (such as dust and moisture) and is equipped with an external fan for cooling. Unlike Totally Enclosed Non-Ventilated (TENV) motors, TEFC motors use an external fan to circulate air over the motor, helping to dissipate heat generated during operation.
TEFC motors are commonly used in various industrial applications where a higher level of protection against environmental factors is required. The enclosed design with a fan helps maintain the motor’s internal components at a suitable temperature, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
