1.5 HP Elite TEFC Stainless Salzer Wired Motor with Base
The 1.5 HP Elite TEFC Stainless Salzer Wired Motor with Base is a totally enclosed, fan-controlled single-phase, dual-voltage boat lift motor. The welded base of the motor is compatible with standard mounting patterns found on flat-plate gear plates, which are commonly used in boat hoists to lift and lower boats. These motors are ideal for use in boat houses and areas with limited ventilation.
You can choose between a Salzer maintained (lock-on) or momentary (spring-loaded) boat lift switch. Both switches are connected with 14/5 SJTW control cable, with the in-line GFCI located 4 1/2 inches away from the plug. The type of plug and GFCI wired to the wiring harness depends on your motor voltage selection.
The motor has a power of 1.5 horsepower (HP) and can run on either 115 volts or 230 volts. At 115 volts, it uses 15.4 amps, and at 230 volts, it uses 7.7 amps. It spins at a speed of 1725 revolutions per minute (RPM) with a frequency of 60 Hz. It fits into frame 56c and has a service factor of 1.15. It can handle up to 17.6 amps at 115 volts or 8.8 amps at 230 volts. It’s designed to work in temperatures up to 40°C for a maximum of 30 minutes. The housing is Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) with a code of E. It has insulation class F and is awaiting UL approval with a C-UL-US stamp.
Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC)
A Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motor is an electric motor that is enclosed to prevent the ingress of foreign particles (such as dust and moisture) and is equipped with an external fan for cooling. Unlike Totally Enclosed Non-Ventilated (TENV) motors, TEFC motors use an external fan to circulate air over the motor, helping to dissipate heat generated during operation.
TEFC motors are commonly used in various industrial applications where a higher level of protection against environmental factors is required. The enclosed design with a fan helps maintain the motor’s internal components at a suitable temperature, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
