BH-40 – 4,000 lb. Standard Flat-Plate Boat Hoist
The BH-40 – 4,000 lb standard flat-plate boat hoist is made up of an Elite 0.75 HP painted electric motor with base and a 4,000 lb standard gear plate assembly. The Elite 1 HP Painted Wired Boat Lift Motor is a single phase, dual-voltage motor. It comes from the factory wired at 220v, but a licensed electrician can convert the wiring to make it a 110v electric motor. The motor is built from rolled steel. The NEMA 56 shaft is 0.625 inch thick and 1.88 inch extruding from the motor housing. UL Recognized (C-UL-US). It uses a capacitor to start.
TENV (totally enclosed, non-ventilated) housing. TENV housing prevents dirt, insects, and water from entering the motor. 15 minutes maximum runtime. Includes 1 inch long x 1/4 inch wide keystock, colored T-wires, easy-to-follow wiring instructions, BH-USA equipment guide, and wiring instructions. Depending on your preference, you can select a maintained (lock-on) or momentary (spring-loaded) drum switch type. The in-line GFCI has a built-in test and reset button.
The 4,000 lb Standard Gear Plate Assembly has a rated lifting capacity of up to 4,000 lbs when used with a 1 HP electric motor. BH-USA uses this gear plate with all its Standard Series flat-plate boat hoists. There are no steel-on-steel moving parts. Assembled and tested by the manufacturer. Lifetime warranty included.
The short block worm assembly has a 2-inch bearing block, a worm on a driveshaft, and an aluminum housing with 1/4 inch grease fittings. Attaches directly to the gear plate. The assembly has standard flat-plate mounting holes. The 96 tooth worm gear assembly comes assembled with the gear, sleeve, backplate bearing, axle sleeve bolt, and snap rings. 1/4 inch easy-reach grease fittings are included. The gear fits standard gear plates used in flat-plate hoists.
MAINTAINED (LOCK-ON) VS. MOMENTARY (SPRING)
Maintained (Lock-On) is a cam rotary switch that stays in place when you turn the handle to either the up or down position. It will continue to move until the handle is moved back to its resting position.
Momentary (spring) must be held in place. Once the handle is released it “springs” back into the rest position.
You are able to distinguish between the two cam rotary switches by the markings on the box. If there are arrows between the positions, it is a momentary switch. If there are no arrows, then it is a maintained switch.
